No. The W3UU station was the initial multiple station Bonus station.

Did you know.......
There are also significant numbers who think that the bonus station
should just be eliminated altogether?
We have one club who boycotts the party because they weren't chosen
as the contest station one year?
Competition argues against *any* bonus station whatsoever?
The apparent acrimony makes me wonder just why we have a bonus
station at all?
Do you know......
For every single aspect of the party, there are people out there who
hate that aspect? And I get to hear about it? That is okay, of course,
but after a while it gets old if I hear about it in the "You're dumb"
argument style.
Do you know how dreary it is to make an innocent announcement about
something that has been in the party for years, and get mail back about
how Dumb it is? How it is silly, how it is going to ruin the party?

And I for one don't really care that much for reading my email and
finding myself called dumb, silly, and even insane. Are we all even?

Sigh.....
Nothing specific to your post, Herb - But.....
As I sit and read about how I'm taking us down the road to socialism,
how there will be hundreds of bonus stations, how "everyone wins", how
every other station will be a bonus station, how everyone will be a
bonus station, how I have dumb ideas, silly ideas, how I discriminate
against CW Ops with the addition of the digital modes and allowing them
to get 2 points when "only" the 80 and 160 meter CW ones do, how RTTY is
going to destroy portions of the contest, then find out that there is a
big German RTTY contest on the same date that hasn't interfered with us
(although they sent me a nice little nastygram about our likely
interference to them - which didn't happen), how cats and dogs will live
together in sin because of my perfidy (okay, that last one wasn't
true)..............
Okay, I'll tell ya what.
Hams are supposed to be smart people. Arguments slippery sloping my
decisions and announcements into ridiculous situations such as everyone
being a special event station, or calling me insane are not going to be
answered or even read in the future. They are insulting and
counterproductive, they are not smart arguments, and I would challenge
anyone who knows just exactly how this party *should* be run to chip in,
become an assistant, put in the time, and make the party "right".
Anyone who disagrees with what I am doing *is* encouraged to frame an
argument in well reasoned terms, with accurate data, and I will discuss
it with pleasure. Otherwise I'll just treat it as someone who just wants
to vent.
