Guys,
About band/mode clarifications... First, I'm assuming that a station
may be worked on each and every band for QSO credit (ie, a contact on 2m
and a contact on 70cm same mode is NOT a dupe).
...and about modes? The Party broadly splits 'phone' and 'cw' modes.
The rules say nothing about the alternative digital modes.
For you guys who have not been around long or may have been unaware of
the situation, this is not a new issue. Over the years I have talked
with both Doug and Chuck about this. Doug always said this is a PARTY
and that if a ham presented a log he accept and honor it at face value,
and I think that Chuck has maintained the same perspective for the
contest committee's point of view.
I think that all of us would benefit from a clearer statement of what
constitutes a valid PA Party QSO as it relates to band and mode.
...and from us software writers, we'd also like very much to hear what
format the contest committee prefers when submitting digital (files) for
logs. If the committee would settle on a standard (ADIF, Cabrillo, or
their own spec -.CSV?) we could maybe make their job easier!
