[PaQSO] Ten Meter Frequencies

I think that 28310 was designated as the suggested 10 meter SSB frequency
right after Novice Enhancement. It's probably never been changed over the
years, in part because most of us scan 10 for people calling CQ, in part
because no one bothered to update it.
However, I strongly disagree that SSB activity starts at 28.400; while there
is certainly more of it from there up, there is still plenty of SSB activity
from 28.3 - 28.4. In fact, I've often found DX stations looking for
ragchews and more than "QSL 59 also 59 TNX QRZ?" type QSO's down there.
Nevertheless if I were on the Pa QSO committee, I'd suggest that they
consider moving the suggested frequency to 28.410 for future contests.

When asked "If you had been in President Clinton's place, would you have
resigned?",
Republican Member of the House of Representatives Dick Armey replied:
"If I were in the President's place, I would not have gotten a chance to
resign. I would be laying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey
standing over me saying, "How do I reload this damn thing?"

Subject: [PaQSO] Ten Meter Frequencies
Why do the PaQP rules specify 28310 as the 10 meter SSB frequency?
Activity on 10 SSB starts out in the 400-500 area, and spreads out from
there
as activity increases. Unless the band is packed (like during a DX contest)
I think many people never even tune down that low.
Therefore we either miss out on QSOs with casual guys if we use 28310, or we
miss out on QSOs with guys who pay attention to the rules if we operate on
some random frequency higher up in the band.
Given the xxx80 suggested SSB frequencies used on all the other bands, 28480
would make a lot more sense. In this internet age, there's still plenty of
time to revise the rules to change a minor point such as this.
