FWIW:
One year N3FR (then N3IXR) and I (then N3BGV) operated M/M from FAY/SOM/WES
line.

We considered ourselves portable and submitted our entry as such, fully
aware that as M/M we were not eligible for any award in the portable
category.

My point is, I would THINK (and I usually get in trouble when I do that)
that you would be Portable, not Rover, even though you would not be
elegible for a Portable award.

Should M/M's be allowed to compete with the M/S and Single Op Portables?
Should high power, medium power, and QRP all be "lumped" together? Just one
more question begging rules clearification.

Obviously, with 25 to 30 stations in the Portable category each year, it's
hard to justify multiple classifications for award's purposes (High power
M/M, high power M/S, high power SO, medium power M/M medium power M/S,
medium power SO, QRP.....etc., etc.). But maybe that is what is needed.

As an annual participant in the portable category (I think the correct word
is Division), I would like to see some formal definition of the entry
requirements for the Portable plaque (maybe plague IS a better word for
it...hi....hi). Should it be limited to medium power? Should QRP Portables
have their own plaque? Should M/M portables have their own?

So many questions.........so few answers

Have a good day all and keep the discussions going.

And don't anyone take anything personal, please. Thank goodness we don't
all think alike.

I can find nothing in the rules that says a rover must operate from more
than 1 location. We've been going to Tuscarora mountain the last few years
to activate Fulton and Franklin counties and spend all our operating time
there.
We aren't a home station, we're not mobile, we run multi-multi so we can't
be portable (even though this is the most accurate), so all we're left with

is rover. This is how we file.
