Greetings All,

AAM0TOR has requested me to submit a question to the general membership
about the evening net time.

Given that most members have jobs or other commitments at or around the 5 PM
hour, it has been suggested that we move the time to either 6 PM or 7 PM.
This movement would give us a net time later than the normal evening drive
times and allow most folks to get home with time to spare for a bit of
relaxation (7 PM would be after supper) and would be prior to primetime TV.
We feel this would up the number of checkins per evening net.

Once we get the general feel for the best time for the evening net, we can
determine what frequencies would be best for that time and submit the whole
package to the SMD for approval.

Please let AAM0TOR know your feelings on this matter by email, ASAP,

As for the Oregon Gateway, the SMD has submitted a request for frequencies
we tested on the Gateway this past Saturday morning and evening. We feel we
have selected the best frequencies for maximum availability of the Gateway
to all members over a 24 hour period. The present schedule will remain in
effect until we get confirmation of the new freqs. We will notify all
members at that time what the permanent schedules will be.

I want to thank all the members who assisted with the frequency checks and
have supported all the work in setting up the Gateway, as accomplishing as
much as we have could not have been done without excellent cooperation in a
team effort. I would especially like to thank AAM0TOR, AAR0JY, AAR0FC,
AAR0LQ, for their dedication to getting this project so near completion.

Please give special attention to getting your choice of net times for the
evening net to AAM0TOR as quickly as possible. We will use the membership
roster to check off the responses so we don't miss anyone as we feel this is
something the general membership should all have a say in this matter.
