*WINLINK EXERCISE #11 ICS 213 GENERAL MESSAGE*

*SCENARIO:* You have been providing Emergency Comms for your local House of
Worship after a disaster that has hit your area. (pick one) In this
exercise, you are reporting to the Comms Unit Leader a problem that you
encountered, and requesting help.


   - Earthquake
   - Atmospheric River
   - Bomb Cyclone
   - Wildfire
   - Hurricane
   - Civil Disturbance / Riot
   - Hazmat Spill
   - Tornado
   - Flood
   - Blizzard
   - Avalanche
   - Wide-spread Power Outage
   - Explosion
   - Aircraft Crash


*INSTRUCTIONS:*

   -

   Open Winlink
   -

   Click on “Message → New Message” to create a new message
   -

   Click on “Select Template”


   -

      Standard templates
      -

      ICS USA Forms
      -

      ICS213   General Message txt


   -

   When the form opens in your browser, complete each section.
   -

   NAME: Give your incident a name based upon type of incident and location.
   -

   TO: K6COB, KO4L
   -

   From: Your name and call sign
   -

   SUBJECT:  Help Request -> Date   -> Time
   -

   In the message field State “THIS IS AN EXERCISE”   Then explain the
   problem and what help is needed.
   -

   Click “Submit" -> OK

When the form disappears, close your browser to get back to Winlink. You
will see your message populated with the information you provided on the
form.

   -

   Click “Post to Outbox”
   -

   Open session
   -

   Start

Once your message is sent the system will check to see if you have any
incoming messages. If so, Click Download, and it will appear in your inbox.
