*WINLINK EXERCISE #10 – SNOWBOUND!*



*Scenario:* A severe winter storm brought blizzard conditions and dumped 15
feet of snow at the higher elevations. Many people are snowbound and cannot
even get out of there homes. Power is out and folks are running our of
food, water and medications. You are tasked to relay messages and requests
for help from outside of the impacted area.

*INSTRUCTIONS:*

   -

   Open Winlink
   -

   Click on the little box beneath your call sign to create a new message
   -

   Click on “Select Template”

   When the form opens in your browser, complete each section
   1.

      Incident Name: “2023 Winter Storm”
      2.

      To: County Fire Rescue Department)
      3.

      From: Your Name & Call Sign
      4.

      Subject: Urgent Help Needed
      5.

      Date
      6.

      Time
      7.

      Message “THIS IS AN EXERCISE” Then describe the kind of help that is
      needed .(Consider the scenario described above)
      8.

      Approved by your local Mayor




   -

   Click “Submit” →OK

When the form disappears, close your browser to get back to Winlink. You
will see your message populated with the information you provided on the
form.

   -

   In the To field type K6COB, KO4L (if not already there)
   -

   Click “Post to Outbox”
   -

   Open session
   -

   Start

Once your message is sent the system will check to see if you have any
incoming messages. If so, Click Download, and it will appear in your inbox.
