I don't want to be critical of a bunch of guys that risked their lives
to go to a remote island so that many people could, literally, tick a
box.  Expeditions like that are incredibly expensive, and despite
support from the (actual) deserving, a lot will probably come out of
their own pockets.

At the same time, please don't spend a boat-load of money to hire an
*actual boat*, risk your life to travel to an very remote island, and
then try to operate a mode with which you are unfamiliar.  If the ops
are more comfortable with CW or phone, then operate CW or phone ...
don't try to learn on the fly (while trying, simultaneously, not to be
blown into the frigid ocean).

Ah, well.  Not going to get on SSB on 30 m and swear at them about it.  :-)
