[OKDXA] FT8 F/H question

OK.... If all we want to do is set a frequency in wsjt, then do this:
Go to File/Settings/Frequencies
Right click anywhere in the box
Select Insert
Leave IARU region = All
Select the mode you want (FT4, FT8, etc.)
Type in the Frequency - such as 18.095
Do this as many times as you like, for as many frequencies as you like, for
each mode you want to define.
Click OK and OK
Then on the main Menu page, middle left, click on the down arrow for the
band (17m, 20m, etc.)
All the defined frequencies for that mode should be there. If you have CAT
working, selecting one should take your radio's VFO to that frequency.

Now, if you want to really get fancy, as I mentioned in my earlier post, I
believe you could create a configuration and include just the frequencies
for FT8 for the VP8PJ Dxpedition, save it with its' own name. Then you could
select that config and all you would have would be the stuff needed for
working VP8PJ. Some guys do this (different configurations) for each mode.
I've never done it. Seems like over-kill to me...

Hope this helps...

Jeff - K5WE

THE ONLY WAY I HAVE FOUND TO CHANGE FREQ IS GOING TO WSJT-X LOG AND CHANGE
IT THERE, 60M IS NOT IN THE PROGRAM EITHER SO HAVE TO GO TO WSJT=X LOG AND
CHANGE IT MANUALLY AND HIT SAVE. GOOD LUCK, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW TOO IF
THERE IS A BETTER WAY, AND TO ADD FREQ TO PROGRAM.

I'm not sure about that. I usually just turn the dial.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the reply, that is what I use also for F/H. Suppose I am on
18.100 running FT8 and VP8PJ
shows up on 18.095. Is there a way to switch to 18.095 just using the
WSJT-X software?
