[OKDXA] dual RX rigs

I find that on these once is a lifetime expeditions Dual RX makes a huge
difference if the stations NOT being called will STBY. I guess not every
DXer has or has read Clifton's favorite book------- "The Complete DXer" by
Bob Locher. Oh well we can dream, but I don't things will change. Plus I
love to beat out the idiots that don't know how to listen. It is all fun in
the end!
Some operators don't like to use Dual RX and others love it. I put the DX
station in my left ear, the stations calling in my right ear at a slightly
lower volume. All I want to hear in that right ear is a 5NN TU and then I
tail end them while not losing focus on the DX in the left ear. That is the
reason I don't like Icom's Dual Watch, is there is no way to split out the
audio. You have a balance control, but you are still mixing both signals in
both ears at the same time. Alsa you near the DXer's frequency you get more
noise than on a true separate RXer.
So like with cars you have to take them for a test drive to see which one
suits your needs and taste. Back to work guys gud luck on the 3Y!!
