[nrv-hams] 10 meter contest correction

To all who might be rushing out to load the ten meter rig into a antenna as
Russ described, note that the length is 16 and a half FEET total split
evenly on each side of the center insulator. It won't likely be a perfect
match, depending on how high up it is hung and how much metal is near it,
but when ten is open it should get a lot of log book lines filled in.

While most folks hang this kind of antenna horizontal, I have found that an
inverted V configuration which requires only one high point with the two
wires finding an anchor above ground level or even mounting the whole thing
vertically if you have a solution that allows a point 20 feet high or more
is great on ten meters for DX. Either way, have some fun!

Also, take a look at QRZ.com's logbook feature. It is free, simple and
gives you lots of stats. If you get into this, ARRL's Logbook of the World
is great, but requires a lot of computer skills to get it working. I log
with QRZ and export the data once in awhile to the ARRL LOTW. I also still
have a paper log, can't be ham radio to me without that!

Thanks Russ for starting this thread.
