First precaution is to set the e-mail program to never automatically
open links. Then if you don't recognize the source don't ever click on a
link. I mark such stuff as junk training thunderbird to automatically
move to the junk folder without my attention.
There was a VHF and Above newsletter nigh on 50 or 55 years ago.
The redirected links hint at phishing and aren't trustworthy. Many a
spam filter would automatically mark them as spam. Many a spam filter
triggers on any url.
