This is the last call for interest in participating in this multi-club
order. I'll be submitting an RFQ to Kuhne on Oct. 9th.
So far I've heard from: WA2VOI, K0CQ, W7XU and KB0HNN. Please let me know if
I've missed anyone that responded.
Please see the attached note for details.

Subject: [NLRS] Kuhne (DB6NT) Club Purchase - please respond directly if
interested
I've been procrastinating on making a purchase from Kuhne-Electronics
http://www.kuhne-electronic.de/en/home.html
but, am now planning to go ahead and just-do-it. However, It's been
suggested that others "may" be interested in a club purchase from Kuhne so,
this is a request for interest.
According to a recent e-mail from Bayreuther Kerstin: ."Normally club
purchases are not complicated. The only thing you have to do is to write us
which modules you would like to purchase.
After receiving your e-mail we will send you our offer with our best
price.".
Based on my previous DEMI experience, the advantages of club purchases are:
- Discounted price
- Shared shipping cost
However, the disadvantages of club purchases are:
- Longer lead time (while the complete order is filled before any
are shipped)
- A single "ship-to" location requiring local distribution
Since this would be an international shipment, the shared shipping costs can
be quite significant given the recent increases in UPS/FedEx costs. I'm
assuming two "local" distribution locations:
- Twin Cities, MN
- Austin, TX
At this point, I have no idea of what the club discount would be and it
varies depending on what's ordered. Also, I have no idea of what's currently
in-stock and the overall shipping cost savings. So, given these disclaimers,
if you still have an interest then please send an e-mail directly to me (not
on these reflectors) jim.k0mhc at earthlink.net
<mailto:jim.k0mhc at earthlink.net>
Indicating which Amateur products you're interested in (Kuhne part number)
and quantity from their website: http://www.kuhne-electronic.de/en/home.html
At this point, you are expressing your interest only; not a commitment to
order. *IF* we have enough response, then I'll go ahead and submit a request
for price quote to Kuhne.
Assuming we get this far in the process, you would be advised of your
discounted price and then you would make a final decision to order (your
check is your commitment).
So, let me know within two weeks (by Wednesday Oct. 9th) what's on your wish
list.
Note that we'll be traveling back to Kerrville, TX from Friday the 28th
through Sunday 29th but, will have mobile e-mail for answering any questions
you have.
