Hello and Happy Thanksgiving !!! Well , Gerald , we all get out of contesting from what we put into it .... Be it the June VHF contest , or the 10GHZ contest participation up on Lake Superior , or the EME contest or ??? There have been many years that I personally did NOT submit logs mainly because of unmentioned rule changes and whatever .... I now feel that I want to do differently , even though I dont have the 1 5/8 heliax or multiple yagi monster arrays or whatever . I just work the contests for the enjoyment of my amateur license as well as enjoyment of the homebrew stuff that I have built . Thanks , Gerry for sharing your views on this , and as always , I look forward to your contacts !! Best 73s to All !! Ron KA0RYT

That was Midwest REGION, and KP was in the Dakota DIVISION,
but W0VAN
took the Midwest DIVISION (Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, etc) with
18 points.
That's maybe 1 contact per band over to K2DRH at the quad
cities who
took the nation again.

So bad that I haven't turned on a rig for UHF contest
since.
A couple years ago I won Iowa Section single band on 2m with
about 150
2m points, and about 15,000 6m points which was beat by
others on 6m.
Down here near the Boondocks VHF and up contesting locally
can be
difficult without the monster arrays up high at the opposite
end of
1-1/8" heliax.
