[NLRS] The 2013 August UHF Contest

WE can put a lot of time and effort into a contest but if there are few
participants in working range or propagation is poor, we still can't
make a dent. If and when I get antennas up much higher than on the house
roof and fed with adequate coax I will participate. At that point maybe
I can be heard north of the cities over the background of the near
underground cities stations that can't hear me presently. I have more
power to feed the antennas too.

Be it the June VHF contest , or the 10GHZ contest participation up on Lake Superior , or the EME contest or ??? There have been many years that I personally did NOT submit logs mainly because of unmentioned rule changes and whatever .... I now feel that I want to do differently , even though I dont have the 1 5/8 heliax or multiple yagi monster arrays or whatever . I just work the contests for the enjoyment of my amateur license as well as enjoyment of the homebrew stuff that I have built . Thanks , Gerry for sharing your views on this , and as always , I look forward to your contacts !! Best 73s to All !! Ron KA0RYT
