[NLRS] Black Friday & August UHF Contest

Hello NLRS land.  

Catchy title, huh.   Here is the  link.  With the shopping season upon us, I 
want to mention that this coming  years August UHF contest, (AKA - Rovermanina 
!), may be a special one.  The  VUAC has been discussing recommending that it 
be added to the club competition  just like the June, Sept, and Jan VHF 
contests.  If so, and if successful,  the NLRS is in a good position to place well 
!   In addition, and  perhaps more importantly, here in NLRS land there are 
plans afoot to seek more  activity that is above & beyond the usual push on JUST 
the rovers and  that this push may make this the most active UHF contest yet  
!   Planning is early so I can't say any more about this yet.  
 
So, looking forward to Black Friday & shopping for stocking stuffers,  now is 
a good time to think about adding a band, perhaps more power, etc, etc,  to 
your station whether you are a rover or a fixed station.  We have  LOTS of 
experience around, so if your not sure what to add or how to do it, ask  ... that 
is what this reflector and NLRS is about.  Think about adding 222,  902, 1296, 
or one of the uW bands.  You may also want to consider joining  the fun on 10 
gig !     
 
In summary, when considering your Christmas wish list, think about August  
2009 and the UHF contest !
