[NLRS] DEMI 3cm PA Idle Current?

I've just about fininshed building my 10 GHz 3W PA from DEMI. I
understand the procedure for setting the idling current. The part that
seems a little strange to me is the actual idling current. The active
device is the Eudyna FMM5061VF. Steve says to set idling current to 2.0
to 2.3 Amps. Seems like a lot! Barry once told me 4 to 5 mA per Watt
was a good starting point for BJTs (and that seems to work fine for the
amp I linearized for a friend). Are FETs very different? So just
idling, the device dissipates around 12W. The good news is that DC
power is removed from the device except during transmit, so it won't be
generating needless heat when not in use. Curious to learn why FETs
appear to be so current hungry ;)
