I am looking for opinions/experience concerning handheld transceivers. I plan to get one soon and would appreciate input from some of you who I know have and use handhelds. I will use the unit primarily when we travel. I want 2M and probably 6M and 70cm also plus the ability to receive the weather channels and general broadcast frequencies. I am assuming that the unit will operate on its battery and from my cars power 12v outlet plus be able to recharge the units battery from 120 vac outlet.
Both Icom and Yaesu make these units - and likely other Mfgrs too. The Icom T90A looks good and the Yaesu VX-7R also looks good. Is it worth having 6M on a handheld???
Thanks much in advance. Merry Christmas to you all. Stay warm and keep your snow blowers in ready state.
