Dennis, you are correct in your assumption. My 432 station uses a mast
mounted preamp, and since I run high power, I have the SSB sequencer.
My PTT, which is a footswitch, plus the key line from the computer
(Voice Keyer- W9XT card) both run to the sequencer, which then runs to
the radio and amplifier.

If you try and run your ptt mike to your radio, then run the key lead to
the sequencer, you will be defeating the purpose of the sequencer.

My 144 is also high power, but no mast mounted preamp, so preamp is
right at radio, and RF sensed. Amp is controlled by radio TX line, and
is cabled in AFTER the preamp. Not the slickest, but it works.

Hello:
It would seem to me that the last function that should be keyed is the
Radio? If that is the case how are you guys doing this? Seems like the
key
line from the mic should be opened and run into the sequencer to start
the
whole process. The last set of contacts to close should then come back
into
the radio to key it.

If I am correct how are you doing this. Do you connect the mic to a mic
connector followed by the connector plugging into the radio. The key
line
could then be pulled out and run to the sequencer?

Thanks in advance for the help,
73, Dennis N9TZL
