[NLRS] RE: [BC'ers] Sequencer Question

I do similar on my 144MHz station except I do key the I/F rig directly,
either by PTT, footswitch, etc. When I am running barefoot, the
sequencer does not get engaged as the mast-mount preamp can safely
operate RF sensed at lower power levels, and the transverter is
only run at about 5 watts out. Regardless, the transverter's PTT out
operates the mast-mounted preamp control box's PTT in. When I need the
amplifier, the preamp control box is fed to the sequencer which then
engages the relays which bypass the amplifier and then apply ptt to the
amplifier itself.

When switching back to receive, the amplifier is unkeyed prior to
switching the bypass relays back to standby.

This seems somewhat counterintuitive at first in that why would I not
sequence everything? The reason is that I want the ability to run
low-power where sequencing is somewhat optional but feel I MUST sequence
when on high power. Initially I did control everything after the I/F, but
then I have to run full power, or install a second sequencer just to
control the amp bypass & ptt controls.
