Hey gang,
Now that the League's web page for "2005 August UHF Logs Received"
( http://www.arrl.org/contests/claimed/repwzCcwY.html ) says:
"The following is the complete list of Logs Received for the 2005
ARRL August UHF Contest. It includes both paper and electronic
submissions. If you find an error or your entry is not listed, please
contact n1nd at arrl.org. If your filed electronically, please include
your receipt number. Thanks and 73.",
I've downloaded those results and done some massaging of the data...
The activity spawned by RoverMania II seems to have once again brought the
"midwest" to the forefront of activity in the UHF Contest for 2005.
For entries by ARRL Section: MN leads with 15, followed by IL with 12, MI
and WPA were tied for 3rd Place with 10 each.
Entries by class: SOLP(A) 80, SOHP(B) 53, Multi 18, Rover 31...this only
adds up to 182 because there was a Checklog and there are two other oddities
in the list so these numbers may change in the 'audited' report that gets
published in QST. Regardless, it should remain higher than the 169 entries
in 2004 by at least 10...a further INCREASE in activity.
Notable Top 5 finishers by class was, shall I say 'dominated', by
participants in this area:
In SOLP, K2DRH #1, N0KP, #2 and KC9BQA, #5. If we consider Michigan part of
the "midwest", add in KB8U at #3.
In SOHP, KM0T "ROCKED" with his #1 finish, but let's not forget W0GHZ at #4.
Adding Michigan, WW8M was #2.
In Multi, N0HJZ #2 and K9CVC #3. (Eternal #1 finisher in Multi, W2SZ/1,
continued that eternity...maybe RoverMania III should try running a multi-op
at KM0T's?)
In Rover, W0ZQ #1, K0MHC, #2, W9FZ, #3, KC0IYT, #5...throw in Michigan and
we have NE8I at #4! A 'notable' absence here is K0SM...did Andy have a log
difficulty? The 45000 that he posted would have moved him to #4, bumping
NE8I and KC0IYT each down 1 notch. (I ended up just outside the Top 5 at #6
and would also have been bumped down by Andy's entry).
Nice job by everyone involved, especially by W0ZQ for his tireless
leadership/instigation/promotion of RoverMania II, not to mention his #1
Rover finish.
My 'personal' thanks again to the operators and particpants at the 33 call
signs in my log (23 of which I see in the list of entries submitted).
So...what WILL be done for RoverMania III? I hope Jon is up to the challenge
again!
73, JK
