I write 50 plus letters a year to our congressional delegation including issues such as BPL.  I will quote part of a letter I just 
got from Senator Dayton (D.Mn) concerning his view on BPL.
" I am committed to ensuring that broadband internet access is available throughout the U.S.  As with rural postal service and 
telephone service of the past, I believe that the federal government should develop policies to secure fair and equitable access to 
high-speed internet services for all Americans."
The only comment I'll make on this is I totally disagree with his view of  the role of federal government.
Has any of the BPL tests actually been conducted in a rural area?
Are the power companies really going to install the equipment needed for BPL in areas where only two or three potential customers 
exist per a square mile?
