OK, please forgive me because this is something I've wondered about as
well, so your patience is appreciated.

So, imagine I hear someone calling on USB 50.30 MHz, and after a few
attempts to answer without getting their attention, I want to try to
send CW in the hope that they'll notice. As I switch the transceiver
over to CW, should I tune up to 50300.70 kHz before transmitting, or
leave it on 50300.00 kHz?

Similarly, when operating LSB should I then tune down 700Hz before
transmitting, or leave it where I'm at.

How does CW-R affect both of these answers?

And could you explain one more time the difference between CW and CW-R?

Thanks,
Brent
