I talked to a Canadian who was in MN for a hockey camp in Blaine last week.
He told us that over the last several weeks the border has tightened up
considerably as he runs several hockey camps in MN over the summer. In
fact, US Customs pulled his van off to be hand checked because of the
number of bags (hockey equipment, etc). They also wanted passports. He is
not looking forward to returning to Winnipeg and the security checks but
several parents told the Canadians that getting into Canada is far easier
than getting into the US. This was at the I-29 border crossing in ND if
this matters.
