[NLRS] CSVHF & re-entry to US

I would strongly advise carrying a passport for entry into the United States
or Canada.. I think there are good and bad officiers at the border and it's
just luck of the draw as to who you get. I cross quite regularly into the
U.S. and have yet to be asked for I.D., but that could change anytime. I
have also been asked the "twenty" questions which is meant to trip you up if
you are a bad guy, so be prepared for that... If you're travelling to Canada
and have ham gear make sure you have all necessary licenses and list of
equipment. Also remember, if coming into Ontario by car, no radar detectors,
handguns or even ammunition is allowed...Also declare any wine or spirits.
Telling the truth is easier to do than trying to hide something by lies...
Also, do not joke about being a terrorist or anything remotely related...
this is not amusing at the border or at the airport, just common sense
nowadays...

I talked to a Canadian who was in MN for a hockey camp in Blaine last week.
He told us that over the last several weeks the border has tightened up
considerably as he runs several hockey camps in MN over the summer. In
fact, US Customs pulled his van off to be hand checked because of the
number of bags (hockey equipment, etc). They also wanted passports. He is
not looking forward to returning to Winnipeg and the security checks but
several parents told the Canadians that getting into Canada is far easier
than getting into the US. This was at the I-29 border crossing in ND if
this matters.
