[NLRS] Power supply question

I picked up a Samlex SEC-1223 supply in Orlando last week. It weighs
less than my 706 for about the same footprint, which makes it great for
portable operation. It is rated at 23A continuous/25 peak, and I
actually believe it. I tested it with the IC-706 at full power for 60
seconds and the fan didn't come on--it got warm, but not very! If you
are going to use it at full-duty cycle above 20A, you might want to add
some fans just to be safe. As for RFI, I would call it unacceptable at
160/80m because of loud spurs ever 20 kHz or so, but I couldn't hear it
above 20m with my outdoor dipole, and it was dead quiet on 2/6. Might
be worth looking into. I got it for exactly the same reason---I got
sick of paking my 20lb standard supply in my baggage!

I have a RS-70M at home in Nebraska. It has stayed on the shelf where I
put it 6 years ago. I think it will be there when archiologists dig it
up in a million years--there's no way in heck I'm going to move it.
