[NLRS] 1296 omnis

I think the collective experience was that an omni on 1296 is an adequate
antenna for working out perhaps 20 miles or so (+/-), but that even a very
short boom antenna, something considerably shorter than a 20' boom, will
provide for more contacts. For example, Directive Systems has a nice end
mount loop yagi on a 3' boom (that's 36") that has 15 dBi of gain. Several
NLRSers have built VJB J-Pole fed yagis with good gain (ex: my 902 yard
stick yagi).
Hope to work ya on 1296 whatever you use.
