I can only address your last question. Since there are no trimmers, you need
to mechanically align the 3 capacitors position with the set screws on the
pulleys' shafts after the belts are installed. You do this by maximizing a
signal at the high end of the band (~1500 KHZ).

Hello radio enthusiasts, I could use some help with an Atwater Kent radio
I'm working on. Anybody have any hints on how to fix\replace a broken
tuning belt on an Atwater Kent Model 30? I know they sell replacements, but
are they hard to install? Is there a better way to link the caps back
together than the belts they used? Is there a special procedure for ensuring
that the variable caps are at the right positions when the belt is
reinstalled? Thanks,
