Matt-
Go to a hobby store and buy some sheet brass; it will work fine when cut into strips.  Making and installing them is a very simple process.

If you have an old spare broken belt or a junker Model 37 - 46, it can be used for belts or making patches that get soldered on; just make sure that whatever you do, that the solder joint remains in the flat portion of travel and don't bend around the pulleys.

If you have access to a metal lathe you can make new pulleys; diameter isn't critical as long as they are the same.  These pulleys can be loaded with dial cord and springs-  it works great.

Hello radio enthusiasts, I could use some help with an Atwater Kent radio I'm working on.  Anybody have any hints on how to fix\replace a broken tuning belt on an Atwater Kent Model 30?  I know they sell replacements, but are they hard to install? Is there a better way to link the caps back together than the belts they used? Is there a special procedure for ensuring that the variable caps are at the right positions when the belt is reinstalled?  Thanks,
