[NJARC] AK Speaker Question

I agree. Best bet would be to obtain an original 8" AK speaker with 2000 ohm field winding. It may become necessary to buy an entire AK radio and tear it down for parts - sort of like burining down the house for a piece of toast, but this is possible and may be worth it. The 627 is a more desirable model than other AK sets using the same speaker. It may be worth taking that route.
Running the speaker with 1K ohm power resistance in series will diminish the full effectiveness of the field coil and reduce the output quality somewhat of the existing speaker, so i'd suggest putting the correct speaker in there!-George-
