[NJARC] AK Speaker Question

Hi Jerry,

First, the way I read Rider's, the AK 72 has a 5-pin connection to the
speaker. This makes sense, as the 72 has push-pull triode outputs.
That means a center-tapped transformer on the speaker.

You might be able to get away with this in the 627, using the entire
transformer primary connected to the single 47 tube, a pentode with
higher impedance.

The real challenge will be the 1000 ohm field coil. This resistance is
involved in supplying the grid bias to the 47. Perhaps a 1K /
couple-of-watts resistor in series with the field coil will allow the
thing to work.

I'd look a little more for the proper speaker.
