Good deal John! I heard you while I had my HQ-150 fired up on 3885! I rolled
out of bed and ran downstairs, but you were gone and Brent started a QSO
with a 5-lander in Arkansas! I knew you could do it! BTW - with the HQ-150
on a random piece of wire (a poor excuse for an antenna) you were a S7 with
S3 noise.

Hi Folks,
Late last night -- about 2 AM -- I worked W1IA in Derry, NH. Brent has a
*tremendous* signal, using an HB solid-state Class E rig (whatever class E
is) using power MOSFETS.
This was my first AM contact -- and my first HF *voice* contact.
I was using the early 70's Novice Dream Station: DX-60B xmitter, HG-10B VFO,
HR-10B receiver. So under ideal conditions, I *can* be heard outside of the
confines of my back yard!
A better antenna next Spring will help a lot.
73,
John
