[NJARC] disabled short wave

Folks,

My father, whose parents came from Italy, told me that
many times the shortwave "snip" was done with a nod
and a wink, so to speak. The guy who disabled the
shortwave in my granfather's big Grunow console showed
him how to put it back. (Ohhh, how I wish I had that
radio now!)

My Dad also told me that my grandfather used to get
fired up listening to Mussolini -- so, perhaps the SW
coils should have *stayed* snipped. ;-)

If you ever find a multiband set that you can get
working on AM but not on SW, this *may* be why.
