[NJARC] Repairing tinsel conductor headphone leads

Lenny, what you describe sounds like a kind of conductive foil tape that my
brother used, back in the day, when installing burglar alarms on
glass windows
in homes and stores. At the end of the "run" around the perimeter of
each window
he would solder wires to connect to the system etc. Perhaps there is
still an
old time burglar alarm outfit who might be able to furnish you with a
couple of
inches of this tape that you can cut down to attach to your tinsel
conductors, then
solder wires to a new plug.
