Thanks for the plug, Slate,

Troop 482 might also try working an on-air QSO through the crossband repeater
that will be on the flight string out of Crow Valley. At apogee, it can see
over 300 miles to its radio horizon, and we'll have a NCS to chat with during
the flight, not to mention some possible DX. The uplink is 445.975 MHz and
downlink is 147.555 MHz, both FM. The downlink also embeds an APRS position
report once a minute, so you could track the flight using a TNC on the
downlink freq. Launch is scheduled for 8:00 AM this Sat 10/4 or Sun 10/5
if weather is adverse - latest word is at www.eoss.org under upcoming
flight.

Of course, I think Ed Gage N0TVQ wouldn't mind a visit at the launch site
from your troop at Crow Valley. Directions are also on eoss.org. We'll
have HF set up there for the scouts to experience as well.
