  Hi, Jim:

  During Ike, I was out of power for 9 days.
I stayed in Union, Ohio, near Miami County where there was power and 
operating gas stations.

  From my remote location, from time to time,
I checked to see if my home server and/or mesh station was operating,
as this would let me know if/when power was restored.

  I was able to travel and obtain fuel and return, so I feel that
"/refilling a gas can to run a generator would not work/"
is a little 'over the top' in the local SET scenario.
