...THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
815 PM EDT FOR NORTHWESTERN NEW CASTLE...CECIL...BERKS...NORTHWESTERN
MONTGOMERY AND CHESTER COUNTIES...

At 624 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
rain continuing, with heavier rain possibly moving into the advisory
area later this evening. Gauges have reached action stage on the
Christina River at Coochs Bridge, the Perkiomen Creek at East
Greenville, and the French Creek at Phoenixville. The gauge on the
East Branch Brandywine Creek in Downingtown is expected to reach
action stage soon. Additionally, road flooding has been reported in
Amity Township in Berks County. Up to two inches of rain has fallen
in portions of Chester, Cecil, and Berks Counties. Urban and small
stream flooding is expected to continue for the next few hours.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Reading, Newark, Middletown, West Chester, Elkton, Calvert,
Pottstown, Phoenixville, Coatesville, Wyomissing, Downingtown,
Elsmere, Kennett Square, New Castle, Birdsboro, Collegeville, Oxford,
Kutztown, Royersford and Hamburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
