MERCER...SOUTHERN SOMERSET...MIDDLESEX AND NORTHERN MONMOUTH
COUNTIES...
At 1206 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
minor flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor
flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already
fallen. A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect for parts of Mercer,
Somerset, and Middlesex counties.
Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Trenton, New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerset, Edison, Old Bridge,
East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Ewing,
Princeton, Keansburg, Matawan, Jamesburg, Cranbury, Pennington, New
Hope, Hopewell and Rocky Hill.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
