In 1999 I bought a 5KW gas generator in case of emergency and/or Y2K. I have yet to have to use that genny.....so I bought a 6.5KW one to augment the first one and I have yet to use either one and I am in the middle of tornado/hurricane alley!!!!! I know the feeling with the full set of valves for the 109. Thankfully I have a good friend who deals in vacuum tubes and he will be setting me up with a full set of tubes for my 109, thus guaranteeing that I, too, will never need a replacement!!!

Now, about the filament voltage on the 1L6...I understand that I need to set the filament voltage to 1.3V +/- .1V to insure that the 1L6, especially, doesn't krump. True? I am thinking that this is done by adjusting the slider on R4 in the PSU. True??

Got a spare set of 4K Ohm H-45/U headphones you want to sell/trade or that I can beg/borrow/buy or steal?

The story on 1L6's is that they are used in the Zenith Trans Oceanics - and
those guys are hoarding them,... $30 seems to be a reasonable price these
days. The other GRC-109 bottles are rather cheap by comparison. I have a
full set of spares - thus guaranteeing I will never need any! HiHi
2 is 1, 1 is NONE....
