Thanks! I do have a copy of the manual, I'll look into doing these initial
troubleshooting steps (sometime soon) and report back.

When I put the thing in "tune" mode, or flip the cw/fsk switch, or key the
H-33, I do get a relay click and a noticeable "whurrrrr" out of the thing.

"Since your RX is working, leave it on 11175 KC and listen for the USAF HF
Global Communications System channel traffic while you are doing something
else."

I have it set up in the garage with my 24v PS, an LS-166 and a wire over
the garage rafters, but I've been listening to 8992 kc instead, will have
to give 11175 a try.
