[MRCA] Free equipment

Ray,

I strongly suspect that the production of sets like the SX-25 dwindled
to zilch after Pearl Harbor Day, but things spun back up pretty quickly
after JV Day in August 1945.  Hence 1940-1945.

Now, the Echophone EC-1 may be a different matter.  EC stands for
Echophone Commercial.  I think the plan was to continue production
despite the War on the basis that it was a commercial product rather
than consumer.  Hallicrafters, and Private Hogarth, advertised the EC-1
throughout the war years.  Does anyone know if they were actually
available.  Maybe in the PX?

How is it that Hallicrafters had the resources to keep producing Ham equipment during WW2? would have thought that all of their production would have shifted to the war effort by early 42? looking at the old WW2 QST almost the only add for new equipment was that Echophone EC-1 pile of junk? also on the subject have been told the EC-1 was produced in occupied Italy, is that true? would explain a lot.
