In General the RT-246 is a pain in the xss for what you get and
it is just too heavy. I think the AM-2060 and a prick 25 or 77 is
much more reliable in a vehicle and I like the way the receive audio
sounds. Been thinking about pulling one of my old 100 watt GE low band
strips out and use it after the prick 25 or 77. But the 25 or 77 will
not transmit on 29.4 which is one advantage of the RT-246- that is using
it on the "red flag" frequencies.
Been trying to get the Phantom of Smyrna on 51.0 for a year
now - should be an easy path between the two OL's and we could treat
it as a company command net.
Years ago thanks to KA3EKH I had a simplex repeater
installed in Seaford DE, lots of people played with it but interest went
away.
