Jeep -
I bought a NOS complete WS #19 about 25 or more years ago at the Vienna, VA
hamfest. The only problem I had was with the contacts on those large audio
connectors. Once that was remedied I was on the air with it. I never used
the variometer, but always had a tuner going to my antenna after a 1 to 4
transformer. I made a Pye to BNC adaptor so as not to have to modify the 19
and then just used a BNC with it regularly. I used it for years mostly on 75
and 160. I remember one time on 160 being in a 4 way QSO using my T-368F
(this was when I still lived in Manassas VA). I asked the guys to stand by
so I could make a transmission on the 19 to see if they could hear me. Dale,
KW1I was one of the stations and he had no problem hearing he 19. I think
one of the other guys was in CA and he could not hear me at all, and, I
think the other guy was K7YOO and he could barely tell I was in there. Big
difference between 400 watts and 2.5 watts, HI. I never had any capacitor
problems and I used the original dynamotor. The real surprise came a few
days later when I received a packet from a guy in Wisconsin. He was
listening in and taped most of the activity. He sent me an audio cassette on
which I was easily copyable on the 19, but, blasting in with the T-368. It
is a fun rig to use and I am sure you will agree once you get yours on the
air. BTW, this was all on AM. 73 - Mike

I just got a Wireless Set 19 setup from a local ex-collector. Its all
there, to include the radio mount, control boxes, and even the canvas
cover, and an extra power supply. I'm currently obtaining manuals for a lot
of it but I'd like to know what difficulties I might encounter with this
radio set in bringing it to life. I understand there is a reflector for
this equipment but I've not explored that avenue, yet. Just curious what
you all may have encountered?

PS: If anyone with one of these sets needs an antenna cable with that Brit
connector on it, there's probably 5-10 of these with all the spares and
such.
