A question about the age of the Collins 618T family of radios, being that I have an AN/ARC-94 that I have been playing around with for a while now and I have collected most all of the online resources that I have been able to come across. Most of this is for the AN/ARC-102 and biased on this I would assume that the radio started being deployed around 1960. Of all the documentation I have the oldest item is TM 11-5821-248 12 that has a publication date of 27 November 63, TM 11-5821-248-20P and 34P both have a publication date of 19 October 81 and the Collins 618T-X Airborne Transceiver Schematics Manual has a date of 1 October 78 on the late model sections and a date of 15 February 68 on the early schematics. The AN/URM-157 test set manual TM 11-6625-622-12 has a date of 28 December 76
From the publications I have I can say that the radio was definitely out and supported in 1963 and updated publications were being published as late as 1981 so the set was supported at least into the mid-eighties. This is just from my limited resources that I have. Do you have better information on when the AN/ARC-94 and 102 were deployed? And what may be the final date that official support was terminated?
