Well the plastic parts of the coupling control are intact.  This kind
of plastic I have had great success repairing with "Seals All" as long
as you have a tight crack or break. you can get this stuff at any
hardware store or automotive parts store. You made my day with the
information about the vertical holes in the crystal socket I would
have never spotted them, I have a few of the larger crystals put I
have piles of the smaller ones.
