Louis,
The LP-(*) is just a signal generator. Quoting NAVSHIPS 900,105, "Navy
Models LP to LP-5 are devices for producing radio frequency oscillations,...".
Besides the NT-60006-(*) and NT-20080-(*), the only other components are
NT-66017-(*) Dummy Antenna Unit and NT-63710-(*) Attenuator Unit (and the manual which
no one seems to turn up).
So the short answer is that the rectifier power supply drives the oscillator
directly.
