[Mobile-Portable] planning mobile installation in a Saturn wagon

Greetings folks,
     I hope that I am in the right place.  Please let me know if I would be
better of elsewhere.  I am planning the installation of an icom 208h radion
in my Saturn LW wagon before summer's end. I have very little cabin space to
work with and was hoping that someone, somewhere, has completed an
installation in the vehicle.  That and any other tips would be great. I am
planning on running two lines from the battery to the cabin, and I expect to
continue using the mag-mount 5/8 wave antenna I own (but not the borrowed
radio).  After looking at the lack of a really good place to put the rig, my
first though was to purchase one of those nice suction cup devices and hang
the entire thing from the windshield. Am I on the right track or is there a
better way?
