Hello all
On 7-25-03 I wrote

Everything works good with one exception. I was installing Am-Com ASAC =
controller for the High Sierra antenna. It gets false halts, false =
direction, and is just plain not working on 40. Am-Com tech thought it =
was RF feedback. I placed donuts on every line to and from the IC706 =
and ASAC, added more grounds etc. With no change. Does anyone have the =
ASAC working correctly, and what did you do to get there?"
I would like to update the status and let you know that my Am-Com ASAC =
controller is working great. What I did was change the ground at the =
base of the High Sierra Antenna which I originally grounded to the frame =
(over 18 inches long). I used copper 1.5 inch width strip 5 inches long =
routed to inside the stop light holder in the fender. The SWR changed =
from just under 2 to 1 to 1.1 to 1 on all bands.
I will start working on the vehicle generated noise and let you know how =
that works out.
