I have a schematic for a GE, and Russell, in the ART13 DY17 dynamotor unit, the actual motor, in addition to the chassis, but nothing for Ballentine motor. There are differences in the first two, but this Ballentine has a few more. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Ballentine dynamotor, just the motor part, not all of the things under the chassis. The main issue is on the LV end, where GE and Russell do not show one brush each going to separate stator windings as in this Ballentine. The motor works fine and makes HV, but in this unit it appears to be missing the capacitor used for brush sparking issues, and on the LV end frame, there is a tapped screw hole which may have been the ground connection for a cap. GE uses 5 caps, Russell uses 4 caps as drawn on the ART13A schematic, but in the AF tech manual, the Russell is shown as having only one .015uf cap across the 28V input to one brush, and it appears there may have only been one in this Ballentine. The brush to stator wiring is different from all other drawings. I did lift the LV winding from the brushes to get an idea of what was happening, where ground was coming in, etc. Going to install the same size cap as in the Russell into this and see what happens, but the actual internal motor wiring is a mystery. Anybody running a DY17 with a Ballentine motor?
