When something I consider is too high priced and it's something I am sort of interested in, I am quite polite in forwarding
an offer, or in suggesting that the price is maybe a little too retail and maybe I don't need it that bad.
On the other hand, if a person is giving something away for too little, I counteroffer more. It's kind of funny, I think, how
tight we sometimes act at swapmeets. A few paltry bucks of dickering over prices. Of course it is kind of fun, but for the
most part it's paltry money but we're acting like we're at some open air food market in Mexico. Then you go and have a medical
procedure, buy prescriptions, replace a muffler or starter motor, or transmission trouble, or some body work from a fender
bender, and you get back to what real world prices are.
